Yardperson/Relief Trade Counter Assistant

Our plant hire fleet is replaced every 12 – 18 months, ensuring customers are always hiring machines that are modern, efficient, and reliable. At FTH Hire Group we want our wealth of experience to work for our customers and we provide a personal service, backed by detailed technical and safety advice.

The primary responsibility of the Yard Person is to be responsible for the safe efficient and smooth running of the yard operation. We also require our Yard Person to provide cover running the Trade Counter when our Trade Counter Supervisor is at lunch or on annual leave.

Yardperson duties and responsibilities:

* Ensuring the yard and warehouse is always swept and clean

* Wash area is regularly pressure cleaned and free from mud deposits

* Helping load and unload vehicles for both colleagues, customers, and suppliers

* Support of trade counter staff in ferrying on and off hires to and from workshop and yard

* Safe storage of spares, Hire and Sales Stock

* Health & Safety

* Must be fit and active as you will be loading and unloading machinery from the van

* To perform a walk around every evening ensuring all keys are removed from plant and any small items of equipment are removed from the yard and secured inside the depot

Trade Counter Assistant duties and responsibilities:

* Ensuring high standards of Customer Service are met at the Trade Counter and in the yard area in accordance with our customer journey minimum standards

* Dealing with customer orders on the phone and at the trade counter

* Placing orders and dealing with the relevant paperwork

Other Duties

* Non – Mechanical service inspections of Ladders, Steps, staging’s, Tower Components, Accrows, Bandstands, Chapter 8 Barriers, Site Fencing, Block Grabs, Plant Attachments etc.

Requirements:

* Ideally possess Counterbalance forklift licence

* Knowledge of tool and plant is an advantage

* Friendly and professional manner

* Ability to take instruction from senior staff and lead by example

* High standards of Customer Service
