How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract Manager / Operations Director (Groundworks & RC Frame)
    Location: Surrey & Surrounding Areas
    Salary: Competitive + Package (DOE)

    We are currently representing a well-established and growing Groundworks & Civil Engineering subcontractor, specialising in reinforced concrete (RC) frame projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is seeking an experienced Contract Manager / Operations Director–level professional to join their senior leadership team.

    This is a key strategic hire, with the successful candidate playing a pivotal role in overseeing multiple projects while helping to strengthen operational structure and delivery performance across the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Oversee and manage multiple Groundworks and RC Frame projects from pre-construction through to completion

    * Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

    * Work closely with commercial and pre-construction teams to support tendering and procurement strategies

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with main contractors, clients, and stakeholders

    * Drive operational efficiency, programme performance, and health & safety compliance

    * Support business growth by contributing to strategic planning and process improvement

    Requirements:

    * Proven experience in a Contract Manager or Operations Director role within a subcontractor environment

    * Strong background in groundworks and RC frame construction is essential

    * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects concurrently

    * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

    * Commercially aware with a strong understanding of project delivery and risk management

    * Ambitious and capable of operating at a senior level within a growing business
