How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer / Sales Executive

    Metalis are working with a client that are a rapidly growing metal engineering and subcontract manufacturing company, established just 18 months ago and already making significant strides in the industry. During this time, they have expanded their operations, including the acquisition of a heat treatment business and relocation to larger premises.

    As they continue to build on this momentum, we are looking to bring in talented and driven individuals to help shape the future of the company.

    The Role

    They are seeking an experienced sales professional with a strong engineering background to drive business growth and strengthen client relationships.

    This role is key to expanding our presence within subcontract manufacturing, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Identify and develop new business opportunities within subcontract manufacturing
    Build and maintain strong client relationships
    Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to order completion
    Prepare quotations in collaboration with engineering and production teams
    Interpret technical drawings and customer requirements
    Conduct client meetings and represent the business professionally
    Achieve sales targets and contribute to company growth
    Monitor market trends and competitor activityAbout You

    Proven track record in sales within engineering or manufacturing
    Strong technical understanding and ability to read engineering drawings
    Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
    Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven

    Contractual profit-sharing scheme
    40 hours per week (typically 7:00 - 15:30, with flexibility)
    Many team members currently work 6:30 - 15:30 Monday to Thursday
