How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEND School
    Birmingham | Full-Time | Immediate Start / September Start Available

    We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and specialist school in Birmingham for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with Autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.

    The Role:
    As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider professionals to provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, build confidence and achieve their individual targets.
    You will support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to create a safe, engaging and positive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Support pupils with SEND including Autism, SEMH and complex needs
    Deliver learning support on a 1:1 and small group basis
    Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
    Adapt resources and tasks to meet individual needs
    Support communication, emotional regulation and social development
    Monitor progress and contribute to pupil records
    Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
    Help maintain a safe, nurturing and structured environmentWe Are Looking For:

    Experience working with children or young people in a school, care or support setting
    Experience supporting SEND, Autism, SEMH or additional needs is highly desirable
    A calm, patient and empathetic approach
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    A genuine passion for helping children succeed
