How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Special School
    Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding permanent role in a specialist setting? Do you want to work in a school where outstanding facilities, excellent resources and a supportive team allow you to make a real difference every day? This excellent special school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a permanent basis.

    As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will support students on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence and build independence within a structured and nurturing environment.

    This role requires previous experience supporting children with special educational needs and ideally a Level 3 Teaching Assistant / LSA qualification. The successful candidate will be patient, proactive and passionate about helping young people succeed.

    Job Role:

    Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
    Supporting students with learning, communication and social development
    Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
    Helping pupils engage with learning and remain focused
    Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviour
    Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
    Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and wellbeing
