How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Teacher of English – High-Achieving Secondary School, Wembley

A high-achieving secondary school in Wembley, placed within the top 5% nationally, is seeking a Teacher of English to join from September. This is a setting where academic success is driven by clarity of curriculum, strong subject knowledge, and consistently high expectations in every classroom. The Teacher of English role offers the chance to teach engaged, articulate students who are accustomed to analytical reading and thoughtful discussion. Lessons are purposeful, behaviour is well managed through established systems, and teachers are able to focus on developing pupils’ writing, interpretation, and critical thinking. For a Teacher of English who values scholarship and precision, this school provides the structure to teach at a high level every day.

As a Teacher of English here, you will join a department that plans collaboratively and places real emphasis on subject expertise. Schemes of work are carefully sequenced, allowing you to focus on how texts are taught rather than what to teach next. Early Career Teachers benefit from a structured induction with reduced timetable and regular coaching, while experienced teachers are encouraged to contribute to curriculum thinking and departmental improvement. This Teacher of English position is suited to those who take pride in their subject knowledge and want to see its impact reflected in strong pupil outcomes.

    * Use assessment to refine teaching and address gaps in understanding

    * Contribute to shared planning and departmental development

    * Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations

    * Maintain clear routines that support focused, purposeful learning

Ideal candidate for this Wembley school:
