How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading international construction and property consultancy is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team based at Gatwick Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure to complex infrastructure and aviation projects while developing within a highly regarded consultancy environment.

    The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of NEC-based projects across major airport infrastructure works, working closely with senior commercial staff and project teams. This role offers hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, making it ideal for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build a strong commercial foundation.

    The Role?

    Key responsibilities will include:
    * Assisting with cost planning, budgeting and feasibility estimates
    * Supporting NEC contract administration and compliance
    * Assisting with procurement and tender documentation
    * Monitoring project costs, variations and change control
    * Supporting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
    * Preparing cost reports and financial updates
    * Working closely with clients, contractors and project teams

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor?
    The ideal Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be motivated, detail-oriented and eager to develop within a consultancy setting.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor should have:
    * A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
    * Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role
    * Exposure to NEC contracts (preferred)
    * An interest in infrastructure or aviation projects
    * Strong communication and organisational skills
    * Progress towards or ambition to achieve MRICS
