How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A nationwide multidisciplinary consultancy delivering end-to-end expertise in construction project delivery, building safety, and regulatory compliance is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Engineer to join their expanding team.

    This role is ideal for a capable Fire Safety Engineer experienced in delivering internal and external Fire Risk Assessments, including both visual and fully intrusive inspections.

    The successful Fire Safety Engineer will advise clients on fire safety compliance across existing buildings and new build schemes, providing clear, practical guidance aligned with current legislation.

    The Fire Safety Engineer will work closely with design teams and stakeholders, supporting safe and compliant project delivery across a wide range of sectors.

    The Fire Safety Engineer's Role

    Conducting internal and external Fire Risk Assessments (visual and intrusive)
    Producing clear, detailed reports with prioritised recommendations
    Advising on compliance with the Building Safety Act, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, ADB, BS 9999 and BS 9991
    Supporting fire safety input on refurbishment and new build projects
    Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
    Assisting clients with implementing remedial actionsThe Fire Safety Engineer

    Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or related discipline
    Proven experience delivering Fire Risk Assessments across varied building types
    Strong knowledge of UK fire legislation and guidance
    Experience undertaking intrusive surveys within existing buildings
    Membership of IFE or IFSM desirable
    Strong communication and report-writing skills
