How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Business Development Executive – B2B Logistics

    Leicester (field‑based)

    £28,000–£32,000 basic salary + £20,000 OTE (realistic in year one)


    The opportunity

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a nationally recognised household name within the logistics sector. This is a field‑based Business Development Executive role, focused on growing B2B relationships with local businesses rather than selling to the public.

    This is a professional, consultative sales position where conversations happen in boardrooms, offices and warehouses — not on residential doorsteps.


    A quick clarification

    This is not door‑to‑door sales.


    You will be meeting business customers only, working within a defined territory, with the credibility of a trusted national brand behind you.


    What the role involves

    As a Field Business Development Executive, you will:

    • Identify and develop new B2B opportunities across Leicester and surrounding areas
    • Meet prospective clients face‑to‑face to understand their logistics needs
    • Build long‑term partnerships rather than focusing on quick wins
    • Manage and grow your own pipeline of business opportunities
    • Plan your own diary and work autonomously in the field


    This role suits someone who enjoys relationship‑building, independence, and being out with clients rather than desk‑based selling.


    Who our client is looking for

    Previous sales experience is not essential. Our client is focused on potential, mindset and transferable skills.


    This role is well suited to individuals from backgrounds such as:

    • Customer service or hospitality
    • Retail or field‑based roles
    • Recruitment, telesales, or account management
    • Any position requiring communication, influence and resilience


    Essential requirements:

    • A full UK driving licence
    • Access to your own car (client visits are face‑to‑face)
    • Confidence engaging with business owners and decision‑makers
    • A desire to learn and develop within a structured sales environment
