How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Engineering Lead is an experienced and proactive leader, who leads all mechanical and electrical engineering functions, drives plant installations, and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. This role plays a key part in overseeing strategic equipment installation projects, optimizing plant uptime, and maintaining high engineering and operational standards in the recycling plant.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    1. Lead and manage engineering operations across the plant, with a focus on design & installation of electrical and mechanical systems.
    2. Drive planning, execution, and supervision of equipment installations and strategic engineering projects.
    3. Ensure full compliance with all HSE regulations and internal housekeeping standards across the facility.
    4. Collaborate with the production and operations teams to ensure optimal plant uptime and functionality.
    5. Oversee and manage project timelines for all plant installation and upgrade initiatives.
    6. Train production and maintenance teams on safe and effective use of installed equipment and plant systems.
    7. Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plant operations and maintenance.
    8. Maintain accurate records of plant maintenance activities, equipment breakdowns, and resolution timelines.
    9. Conduct routine inspections to monitor equipment performance, safety practices, and maintenance needs.
    10. Provide strategic engineering insights to support long-term operational efficiency and expansion plans.
    11. Manage engineering-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and installation practices.
    12. Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including plant uptime, installation timelines, and HSE compliance.
    Qualifications and Requirements:
    * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
    * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical installations and large-scale project management.
    * Relevant certifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (e.g., NICEIC, IOSH, IET).
    * Proven track record in managing plant engineering functions within an industrial, manufacturing, or recycling environment.
    * Strong understanding of HSE regulations and best practices in plant safety and housekeeping.
    * Excellent project management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    * Experience with maintenance management systems and engineering documentation.
