How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Help improve process performance at a major UK manufacturing site
Wolviston Management Services is proud to be working in partnership with TIOXIDE to recruit a Process Engineer for their Greatham site.
This is a key technical role where you will provide operational, technical and process safety support to the area team, while driving continuous improvement in plant performance, reliability, quality, cost and environmental compliance.
You will work closely with operations, engineering and technical colleagues, using your process engineering knowledge to identify improvements, support safe plant changes, investigate losses and help deliver measurable business benefits.

    What you’ll be doing
    You will:

Identify and deliver process improvement opportunities to improve capacity, cost performance and product quality.
Investigate process incidents, losses and performance gaps using structured problem-solving tools.
Provide technical guidance, oversight and training to operations teams.
Support safety assessments for plant modifications, ensuring process, equipment, operating and maintenance changes are properly evaluated.
Lead plant trials, including technical and safety assessments and clear communication with manufacturing teams.
Promote environmental performance and compliance, ensuring issues are investigated and resolved.
Support a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, performance and continuous improvement.
Act as Technical Duty Manager and Management of Change and Inhibits signatory when required.   The role supports the White End area, including finished product packing, warehouse operations, DELTIO® operations, Dirt Filter Press and Effluent Treatment, Site Services, and Streams 1, 2 and 3.

We welcome applications from people who have

A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered Engineer status, or are working towards it, or can demonstrate equivalent professional engineering judgement.
Experience in chemical, process, manufacturing or another high-hazard environment.
Experience supporting manufacturing improvement and delivering measurable business benefits.
Experience leading or contributing to problem-solving activity across Production, Engineering or Technical teams.
The ability to analyse process issues, identify practical solutions and take effective action.
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage people across different teams and levels.
Good IT and data analysis skills, such as Excel, PI/FIS or MiniTab, or the willingness to develop these.
A commitment to safe working, inclusion, environmental performance and continuous improvement.   We know people gain skills in different ways. You do not need to meet every point above to apply. If this role interests you and you believe you could make a positive contribution, we would welcome your application.

    Why join TIOXIDE?
Join TIOXIDE to use your process engineering expertise in a technically varied environment where your work will directly support plant performance, safety, environmental compliance and continuous improvement. You will be part of an experienced site team, with opportunities to solve complex problems and contribute to future operational performance.

    Diversity and inclusion
TIOXIDE is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences, including people from groups currently under-represented in engineering and manufacturing roles.

TIOXIDE and Wolviston Management Services are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process
