Concept Projects Group is an engineering project delivery company supporting blue-chip manufacturing clients across the Northwest. We specialise in providing practical engineering solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and performance within industries such as FMCG, food production, pharmaceuticals and construction.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will support projects across multiple industrial sites, primarily within the Wirral area. This role involves designing, developing, maintaining and improving machinery and mechanical systems to solve practical problems and enhance operational efficiency.
You’ll work closely with project managers and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to installation.
Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities
* Provide mechanical solutions from design through to installation
* Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment in FMCG and pharmaceutical environments
* Repair and overhaul motors, pumps, valves, bearings and rotating equipment
* Modify and optimise existing manufacturing machinery and production lines
* Carry out mechanical fitting and fabrication
* Assemble and install components from technical drawings
* Work with utilities including compressed air, steam and water systems
* Operate fabrication and workshop equipment (cutting, welding, drilling, machining)
* Support engineering project managers with technical expertise
* Ensure all work complies with industry safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
* Apprenticeship-trained or time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer
* Experience in a similar manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong bench fitting and machining skills
* Ability to read and interpret technical/CAD drawings
* Experience working with pumps, motors and rotating equipment
* Strong problem solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Continuous Improvement skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Good communication skills in a client-facing role
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience working on blue-chip manufacturing sites
* MEWP / Scissor Lift experience
* IOSH certification
