How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Control Systems Engineer

    Reading, Berkshire

    We are now seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our growing engineering team at out state of the art facility in Reading, Berkshire. This is a technically focused role, responsible for leading the design, development and commissioning of advanced control and automation systems across a wide range of industries.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Contribute to all phases of the project lifecycle with a focus on high‑quality technical delivery.

    Communicate effectively with customers through meetings, presentations, and technical documentation.

    Deliver assigned technical tasks and projects in line with budget, quality, safety, and time expectations.

    Produce and review specifications, design documents, and technical reports.

    Configure and develop control system application software across multiple platforms and industries.

    Conduct testing and commissioning safely within operational end‑user environments.

    Maintain consistently high standards throughout the design and engineering process.

    Work independently or collaboratively within a team, adapting to various project and customer environments.

    Ensure full compliance with all requirements of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).

    Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:

    Highly motivated, ambitious self‑starter with a strong interest in control and automation.

    Excellent interpersonal, technical, and written communication skills.

    Experience in designing and developing control solutions within Food, Utilities, FMCG, Process, or Materials Handling industries.

    Degree in Control, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

    Ideally a member of a relevant engineering or professional body.

    Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the control and automation industry.

    Proven control systems engineering experience.
