How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £44,630 - £48,774 per annum

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Shape the future of A Level provision in a growing, ambitious college

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Teaching and Learning Manager for A Levels and Access to HE to join our team at an exciting point in development.

    This role would suit:

An existing middle leader with experience of leading A Levels in a GFE college, sixth form college or school sixth form, or

An exceptional A Level practitioner with a strong track record of impact who is ready to take the next step into a curriculum leadership role.

    About the role

You will play a central role in leading and developing our A Level and Access to HE provision, working closely with the Head of Learning to ensure high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, strong student progress, and a curriculum offer that meets the needs of our students and local community.

Our provision currently includes 25+ A Level subjects and Level 3 Access to HE courses, with plans to expand and diversify the offer over the coming years, including the development of V Levels. This role offers the opportunity to shape both day-to-day delivery and future curriculum developments.

    Key responsibilities include:

Leading the day-to-day operations of A Levels and Access to HE

Delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment

Driving strong student progress and value added, including ALPs performance

Supporting, coaching and developing teaching staff to improve practice

Leading quality assurance activities, including course review, evaluation and data analysis

Contributing to curriculum planning, timetabling and curriculum intent

Supporting new curriculum developments, including V Levels

Playing an active role in student recruitment, open events and school liaison

Promoting equality, diversity, inclusion and sustainability across the curriculum

    About you

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of teaching A Levels within a sixth form or further education setting

Has a proven track record of high-quality teaching and assessment

Has experience of leading, managing or coordinating others, or has demonstrated the potential to do so

Is committed to innovative, inclusive and student-centred teaching and learning

Is confident using data, quality assurance processes and digital technologies to improve outcomes

Is passionate about supporting both staff and students to succeed

Experience of working in a sixth form college, school sixth form, or GFE college with sixth form provision is highly desirable.

    What we offer

A competitive salary with annual progression

A strong commitment to professional development and leadership progression

The opportunity to work within a collaborative, values-driven college group

    Our Staff Benefits:

We have a fantastic range of staff benefits, highly competitive against what is offered by the private sector and other organisations, including:

40 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and college closure days over the Christmas period which are not deducted from annual leave entitlement. Plus, the opportunity to purchase up to 5 days additional leave.

Discount schemes – including discounts on shopping, restaurants, travel and onsite facilities such as our gym and First Steps Childcare nurseries (specific campuses only).

Family friendly policies – including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave (dependant on continuous service).
