How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: ASC Teaching Assistant
    Location: East London
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
    Salary: £(Apply online only)

    We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable ASC Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition within a specialist or inclusive educational setting in East London. This role is well suited to an individual with a strong understanding of autism and a commitment to supporting pupils in achieving their full potential in a structured and supportive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide individualised 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition
    Assist in the implementation of personalised learning plans tailored to meet pupils’ specific needs
    Support pupils with communication, social interaction and sensory regulation
    Use structured approaches (such as visual supports and routine-based strategies) to enhance learning and engagement
    Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and therapists to deliver consistent support
    Promote positive behaviour and support pupils in managing transitions and changes in routine
    Foster independence, confidence and social development
    Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and support plans

    Person Specification

    Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition is essential or highly desirable
    Understanding of autism-specific strategies and approaches (e.g. visual timetables, structured teaching)
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    A calm, patient and consistent approach
    Ability to respond effectively to individual sensory and behavioural needs
    Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding practices
    Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, psychology or support work are advantageous
