How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Teacher 

    Location: Portsmouth
    Hours: Full-time (term-time)
    Start: ASAP / September
    Pay: £168 – £240 per day

    Do you have the ability to make challenging concepts engaging and accessible for all students?

    We are seeking a Maths Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Portsmouth area. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students in developing confidence, resilience and strong problem-solving skills.

    You will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential while contributing to a positive and ambitious school environment.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Delivering high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
    • Inspiring students to develop confidence and critical thinking skills
    • Supporting curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities
    • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
    • Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment
    • Building positive relationships with students, staff and families
    • Contributing to departmental and whole-school development

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
    • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (ECTs welcome)
    • Ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities
    • A proactive, enthusiastic and reflective approach
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all students
    • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
