How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: Competitive
Lead engineering performance on one of the UK’s major TiO₂ manufacturing sites

Wolviston Management Services is delighted to be working in partnership with TIOXIDE to recruit an Area Engineering Manager for their White End Manufacturing team at Greatham.

This is a high-impact leadership role at TIOXIDE’s largest TiO₂ production site. You will provide engineering leadership for the White End assets, ensuring they are maintained in line with statutory requirements and engineering standards, while leading technical resources to improve plant availability, reliability and performance.

You will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering colleagues and specialist contractors to solve complex technical challenges and deliver continuous improvement across a key manufacturing area.

    What you’ll be doing
    You will:

Lead engineering activity across the White End assets, including PSSR, pressure systems and safety instrumented systems compliance.
Uphold site, corporate, national and international engineering standards across inspection and maintenance activity.
Lead Mechanical, Electrical and Instrument Engineers in investigations, problem solving, failure analysis and incident investigation.
Work with specialist contractors to plan safe, effective solutions for complex repairs and modifications.
Drive continuous improvement through loss analysis, reliability improvements and innovative engineering solutions.
Work with the Resource Manager to identify technical resource needs and support the plant team.
Develop KPIs to demonstrate mechanical, electrical and instrument statutory compliance.
Lead, support, motivate and develop team members.
Promote a positive, values-led culture focused on safety, collaboration and high performance.
    Lead the Asset Maintenance Strategy.
Act as Site Engineering Manager Nominee and Management of Change and Inhibits signatory.
Lead the asset engineering interface with relevant external authorities.   The White End area includes finished product packing, warehouse operations, DELTIO® operations, Dirt Filter Press and Effluent Treatment, Site Services, and Streams 1, 2 and 3.

We welcome applications from people who have

A degree, or equivalent knowledge, in mechanical, electrical or another relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional engineering judgement.
Experience leading engineering activity in a chemical, process, manufacturing or similar high-hazard environment.
Knowledge of statutory compliance, asset integrity, maintenance strategy, engineering standards, pressure systems, safety instrumented systems and PSSR.
Experience leading technical investigations, problem solving, reliability improvement or continuous improvement work.
The ability to lead, support and motivate others, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
A commitment to safe working, inclusion and values-led leadership.   We know people gain skills in different ways. You do not need to meet every point above to apply. If this role excites you and you believe you could make a positive contribution, we would welcome your application.

    Why join TIOXIDE?
Join TIOXIDE to lead meaningful engineering improvements, influence asset strategy and develop others within a technically strong business focused on safe, reliable operations.

    Diversity and inclusion
TIOXIDE is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences, including people from groups currently under-represented in engineering, manufacturing and leadership roles.

TIOXIDE and Wolviston Management Services are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process
