The Role – Trainee Roofing Surveyor
A great opportunity for someone with strong mathematical ability who wants to build a long‑term career in estimating or surveying within the construction industry. The role is office‑based with regular site visits, so you must be comfortable travelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Review roofing tender packages and understand project requirements
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
* Attend site visits to carry out full measured surveys on pitched and flat roofs
* Complete take‑offs and prepare accurate estimates for roofing and associated works
* Assist with bid preparation and ensure documentation is complete and compliant
* Work on a variety of projects, from domestic properties to large commercial and public‑sector buildings
The Right Person
* Ideally some construction experience, but not essential
* Strong mathematical ability
* GCSE Mathematics grade C (4/5) or above
* Good IT skills and confident using software
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communicator with a positive attitude
* Keen to learn, develop and build a long‑term career in surveying or estimating
