How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Asset Manager - Housing

    Macclesfield

Hours - 37 Hours per week

Agile - offering a mix of office and home working

    Salary: £52,125 per annum

We’re a housing provider in Macclesfield with over 5,000 properties across East Cheshire and the surrounding areas. We’re ambitious with plans to build more homes, regenerate local areas and invest in our properties. We provide housing to those in housing need and aim to be a great landlord for our customers.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Asset Manager to join our team. You will be leading the Trust’s approach to asset management and investment planning, ensuring that homes are safe, compliant and sustainable, and that investment decisions are evidence-led and aligned to the Business Plan. You will also oversee the quality, integrity and use of asset data to inform short-, medium- and long-term programmes, and will work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and external partners to deliver regulatory compliance, value for money and continuous improvement. The role also provides leadership to the Energy Manager to ensure effective delivery of the Trust’s Asset Management and Environmental objectives.

    We can offer you:

    *

29 days holiday per year plus birthday leave and Bank Holidays

    *

A great pension scheme that’s tailored to suit your needs

    *

Agile working providing homeworking and flexibility of working hours.

    *

A focus on your health and wellbeing including access to our Health Cash Plan offering a variety of benefits and discounts.

    *

Training and development opportunities – let us help you reach your career goals.

    *

A modern office with a friendly working environment

To do well in this role, you’ll have a Degree (or equivalent) in asset management, building surveying, housing, construction, or related discipline.

We’re looking for someone who has strong report writing and presentation skills; able to explain complex asset issues clearly and experience coordinating major investment programmes to minimise abortive work and maximise value for money.

For a full overview of the role, please take a look at the job description attached to this advert.

Our values guide everything we do, so we’re keen to hear from people who share a similar outlook and want to make a positive impact.

It’s a great time to join the Trust, and this is a fantastic opportunity to shape and grow in an Asset Manager role. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date: 15 May 2026 (We may close this vacancy early if we find the right candidate, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.)
