How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Deputy Manager / Step-Up Opportunity (Children’s Residential Care)
    Acacia Therapy Homes – Staffordshire
    £17.50 per hour | 2 shifts + 1 office day per week
    Clear progression to Registered Manager

    Are you ready to take the next step into leadership or looking for a Deputy role that genuinely leads to Registered Manager?

    At Acacia Therapy Homes, we are growing a therapeutic children’s home model built around ARC-PACE, and we are looking for strong practitioners who want to develop, progress, and be part of something that is being built properly.

    This is not a “stand still” Deputy role.
    This is a development pathway into Registered Manager, with support, structure, and real opportunity.

    Why this role stands out

    * Clear progression into Deputy Manager → Registered Manager

    * Work within a therapeutic, trauma-informed model (ARC-PACE)

    * Be part of a growing organisation where your input matters

    * Structured working pattern: 2 shifts + 1 office day

    * Opportunity to help shape a home, not just work in one

    Who this role is for

    This role is ideal if you are:

    * A Deputy Manager looking for progression into RM

    * A strong Senior / Team Leader ready to step up

    * Someone who wants to move away from “just shifts” into leadership

    The role

    You will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, balancing hands-on care with leadership responsibilities.

    This includes:

    * Leading shifts and supporting staff on the floor

    * Managing standards, safeguarding, and compliance

    * Supporting staff development and supervision

    * Contributing to audits and Ofsted readiness

    * Helping create a stable, therapeutic environment for young people

    The role is structured around two shifts and one office day per week, with the expectation that management responsibilities are delivered within this model.

    What you’ll need

    * Experience in a children’s residential setting

    * Senior / Team Leader / Deputy experience

    * Understanding of Ofsted and safeguarding standards

    * Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

    * Willingness to work towards Level 5

    * Full UK driving licence

    What we offer

    * £17.50 per hour

    * 31 days annual leave

    * Paid birthday off

    * Ongoing training and development

    * Support with progression into Registered Manager roles

    * Employee Assistance Programme

    * Discounts via Bright Exchange

    Why Acacia Therapy Homes?

    We are building homes that are:

    * Therapeutic, not just operational

    * Child-centred, not system-led

    * Stable, consistent, and relational

    We are equally committed to building a team that feels supported, developed, and valued.

    If you are looking for a role where you can progress, lead, and make a real difference, we would like to hear from you
