How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Inspire the next generation. Share your experience. Build a career with purpose.

    Are you an electrician who’s starting to think “What’s next?”
    Or an experienced electrical tutor who wants to work somewhere that genuinely values quality, people, and professionalism?

    An established and highly respected electrical training provider in the West Midlands is entering an exciting new phase and is now looking to appoint Electrical Tutors as part of its forward planning for 2026. With growth, succession planning, and long-term stability firmly in mind, this is a rare opportunity to join an organisation that is serious about education, proud of its standards, and committed to doing things the right way.

    This organisation supports hundreds of apprentices and adult learners each year, working closely with a wide network of employers to ensure training is relevant, practical, and rooted firmly in real-world electrical work.

    Quality isn’t just a buzzword here — it’s a core value. Teaching is delivered by people who understand the trade, respect learners, and want to pass on their knowledge in a way that builds confidence, competence, and pride in workmanship.

    As an Electrical Tutor, you won’t just be delivering qualifications — you’ll be shaping careers.

    You’ll be based at modern Birmingham training centres, delivering a mix of theoretical and practical sessions to apprentices (16+) and adult learners. Teaching covers apprenticeship programmes as well as a range of commercial and upskilling courses.

    Your work will include:

    * Delivering engaging classroom and workshop sessions

    * Teaching and assessing practical electrical work

    * Supporting learners who need additional help or guidance

    * Working closely with employers to support apprentice progress

    * Contributing to assessments, skills scans, and learner reviews

    * Playing an active role in maintaining high standards and learner outcomes

    Crucially, you’ll be trusted as a professional — encouraged to bring your industry experience into the classroom and make learning real, relevant, and engaging.

    This opportunity is deliberately open to both education professionals and industry specialists.

    You might be:

    * An experienced electrical tutor or lecturer looking for a more positive, supportive environment

    * A time-served electrician ready to step away from the tools and into a more sustainable, rewarding career

    * Someone who enjoys mentoring, explaining, demonstrating, and seeing others succeed

    If you’ve ever taken pride in helping an apprentice “get it”, or thought you’d enjoy passing on what you know — this role gives you the space and support to do exactly that.

    One of the strongest features of this organisation is how it supports its tutors.

    If you’re coming from industry, you’ll receive:

    * Fully funded teaching and assessor training

    * A structured induction into education

    * Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced tutors

    * Opportunities to update and refresh your own electrical qualifications

    If you’re already qualified, you’ll benefit from:

    * A stable, well-organised teaching environment

    * Opportunities to broaden your delivery across courses

    * A leadership team that values quality over box-ticking

    This is a place where people stay — because they’re supported, listened to, and treated well.

    Benefits include:

    * 25 days’ annual leave plus statutory holidays

    * Pension scheme

    * Death in service benefit

    * Ongoing professional development

    * Sensible, family-friendly working hours

    * Full-time roles (part-time considered)

    Working hours:

    Monday–Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

    Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
    Salary description

    £37000.00 - £48000.00 per year
