How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Primary Teacher
    Location: Lewes
    Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
    Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply (Part-Time & Full-Time Available)
    Daily Rate: £120–£140 per day for daily supply | Paid to scale for long-term roles with full PPA

    Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex.

    About the Role

    We are looking for adaptable and passionate Primary Teachers to deliver engaging and creative lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2. This flexible opportunity allows you to work in a variety of school settings, build valuable experience, and make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and development.

    Whether you’re looking for daily supply, short-term cover, or long-term roles, we can offer part-time or full-time positions to suit your availability from September.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
    Adapt confidently to different school environments and follow each school’s curriculum and policies
    Maintain strong classroom management and promote a positive, nurturing learning environment
    Assess and monitor pupil progress in line with school expectations
    Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents where required

    Requirements

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Experience teaching within a primary school setting
    Strong understanding of the Primary curriculum
    Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach
    A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
