Here are Aspire People, we are looking for a HLTA to join an inclusive and supportive school that is dedicated to meeting the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The school provides a safe and nurturing space where students can thrive, supported by a dedicated team of professionals who work collaboratively to help every student reach their full potential. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Level 4 Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team. Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality learning support in the classroom, working alongside the class teacher to ensure students with SEN and SEMH needs are fully included in all activities.
* Plan and deliver interventions for small groups or 1:1 sessions to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
* Support students in managing their emotions, behaviours, and social interactions in line with their individualised learning plans (ILPs).
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
* Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes the well-being and engagement of all students.
* Provide guidance and support to other teaching assistants, sharing your knowledge and expertise in SEN and SEMH strategies.
* Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
* Support students with personal care needs, where required, and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
* Participate in regular meetings, training sessions, and contribute to school events and activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A Level 4 Higher-Level Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience supporting students with SEN and SEMH, ideally within a school setting.
* Strong understanding of various SEN and SEMH conditions and effective strategies for supporting these students.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
* A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the needs of the students.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
* A calm and patient manner with a strong ability to manage challenging behaviours.
* A good sense of teamwork and the ability to lead and support other staff members.
