How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re hiring!
    We’re looking for a Qualified Trade Mark Attorney to provide exceptional advice and service with your team to a range of local and international clients.
    You’ll work independently but use your initiative to seek support and advice from other members of your team and the firm, where the work requires it and use help from support and paralegals effectively, so that your workflow is efficient and provides value for money for our clients.
    We're looking for those that can develop and maintain good professional relationships with clients, colleagues and global associates and work efficiently and effectively in the role of a fee earner, prioritising your workload and billing effectively.
    Key responsibilities:
    Your focus will be to support work in the following areas –
    * Assist in the training and professional development of other members of your team
    * To continue to develop in the role and skills of a trade mark attorney, with emphasis on UK and EU trade mark law and practice, working towards the status of Stobbs Qualified
    * To maintain your qualification as a UK or EU trade mark attorney through appropriate continuing competence activities and compliance with all IPReg requirements;
    Essential skills and experience:
    * Fully qualified UK or EU Trade Mark Attorney with relevant experience as an attorney or trainee attorney at another legal services firm or in-house;

    * Be adaptable in understanding and meeting the needs of a range of clients
    Work at Stobbs:
    Firm culture is important at Stobbs - friendly, social, approachable and where we look after each other. We regularly provide our own social and professional events. We manage the rights of some fantastic clients - obviously that means our advice has to be legally sound, but it's also about it being business savvy. We have high standards but learn from our mistakes. We’re not internally competitive (well, except when it comes to sports and quizzes!). We're certainly not run with an iron fist; we want our people to bring their whole selves to work, wanting to perform well, learn from mistakes and to feel comfortable asking questions and learning, and helping us continue to improve and be the best we can be.
    Our head office is north of Cambridge, with an office in central London. We are trying to strike a good balance of supporting people to work flexibly while delivering for our clients and making Stobbs an attractive place to work. Our current hybrid working policy is a minimum requirement of two days in the office, encouraging people in more if possible. We may expect you to be based in the office full-time during the first six-months. Those seeking a part-time role may also be considered
