How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager

    Our client is a well-established, M&E contractor with a strong reputation across the UK. Operating in sectors including commercial, industrial, energy and infrastructure, they deliver complex electrical and technology-led projects with a focus on quality, reliability, and long-term client relationships.

    The role

    Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple projects.

    This is a high-impact position where you will work closely with senior leadership, influencing commercial strategy while remaining hands-on in project delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account

    * Manage cost planning, procurement, and subcontractor packages

    * Oversee contract administration (NEC / JCT experience preferred)

    * Drive cost control, risk management, and value engineering

    * Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

    * Provide accurate reporting and forecasting to senior stakeholders

    About You

    * Proven experience as a Senior QS or Commercial Manager within M&E / building services / infrastructure

    * Strong contractual knowledge (NEC and/or JCT)

    * Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

    * Comfortable working in a growing business where you can influence change

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
