How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

The Education Specialists are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support young people age 14-16 years with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) to start after May half term. This position is long term until July with the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the school in September.

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a warm and welcoming team.

    About the Role

    In this role, you will:

    * Support students who may struggle with confidence, behaviour, or emotional regulation

    * Help children rebuild their relationship with learning, celebrating small steps and progress

    * Be a calm, positive role model—someone they can look up to and trust

    * Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals to provide consistent, compassionate support

    * Assist with classroom activities, small-group work, and individual interventions tailored to students’ needs

    What We’re Looking For

    The right person will be:

    * Genuinely committed to helping children re-engage and feel confident in school

    * Motivated and enthusiastic, bringing energy and positivity to each day

    * A strong role model, showing patience, resilience, and empathy

    * A team player, able to work closely with colleagues to provide a nurturing, structured environment

    * Understanding and supportive, recognising that each child’s journey is unique

    * Experience with SEMH or SEND is helpful but not essential—we value your attitude and your ability to connect with young people above all.

    What We Offer

    * A caring, dedicated staff team who will support you from day one

    * Ongoing training and development opportunities

    * A chance to make a meaningful impact on children’s wellbeing and learning

    * A positive, inclusive environment where every child—and every staff member—is valued
