How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Responsibilities

    * In collaboration with the UK People and Culture team, the Head of HR will lead and develop the company’s people strategy, ensuring the attraction, development, engagement, and retention of high-performing talent.

    * The role is responsible for establishing and operating effective people processes, systems, and policies that support business growth, aligned with the ultimate parent company, Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance in Japan, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and entrepreneurial workplace culture.

    * Initially, these activities will be carried out in close alignment with both the UK People and Culture team, which provides HR services, and the Lab’s growth strategy. The role will transition to a fully independent HR operation by the end of 2026 (timing subject to change).

    * Where applicable, the role will oversee the implementation of HR systems to support the company operations.

    Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

    * Over 3 years of experience as a Head of HR, or in a similar management role, with responsibility for all aspects of HR, including the design and implementation of incentive schemes.

    * Minimum of 3 years of recruitment experience with a strong track record.

    * Strong knowledge of HR best practices and UK employment legislation.

    * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

    * Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a growing organisation.

    * Bachelor’s degree.

    * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
