How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Teaching Assistant - SEN Provision
    Location: Ilford
    Pay: £95 - £115 per day
    Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent
    Start Date: 27th April 2026
    Commutable from: Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Newham, and Waltham Forest.

    Long Term Futures is looking for a resilient and compassionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Ilford. This is a long-term, full-time contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role, focusing on supporting primary-aged pupils with diverse additional needs. You will be working within a dedicated team to provide a tailored educational experience that prioritises the individual development and wellbeing of every child.

    Responsibilities

    Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.
    Implement bespoke learning plans and sensory activities designed to meet specific student requirements.
    Use a variety of communication methods and de-escalation techniques to support positive behaviour.
    Assist in the personal care or physical therapy needs of pupils where required by their individual plans.
    Collaborate closely with the SENCO, therapists, and parents to monitor and report on student progress.
    Essential Candidate Requirements

    Experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary or specialist school setting.
    A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students with complex needs.
    Knowledge of specific interventions or communication tools such as PECS or Makaton is highly desirable.
    The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations with sensitivity.
    A commitment to inclusive education and a desire to make a tangible difference in a child's life.
