How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Company you will be working for;

    MTrec Recruitment is proudly supporting our Newcastle city centre-based client in their search for a Payroll Administrator. They are looking for the right candidate to support the effective, accurate and timely operation of the weekly and monthly payroll within their business and to provide accurate monthly reports to the company Directors.     The Role you will be doing;

    * Inputting employee payroll data accurately, including hours worked, overtime, and basic amendments

    * Assisting with the preparation of weekly and monthly payrolls under supervision

    * Updating employee records for starters, leavers, and changes to personal details

    * Checking timesheets and resolving basic discrepancies before processing

    * Supporting with data entry for statutory payments such as SSP and holiday pay

    * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records and filing systems

    * Assisting with payroll reports and basic reconciliations

    * Responding to simple payroll queries and directing more complex issues to senior team members

    * Supporting pension data administration and general payroll compliance tasks

    * Liaising with internal teams (HR/Finance) to ensure accurate data is received on time

    * Ensuring confidentiality and secure handling of employee information at all times

    About You;

    * Payroll administration experience preferred.

    * Strong administration and data input skills are essential.

    * Strong IT skills, especially with excel.

    * A genuine team player – able to communicate effectively and be flexible and adaptable to support the team.

    * You will be looking for either full-time or part time hours.

    * Able to travel to Newcastle City Centre easily
