How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Middleton

    Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester
    Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
    Start Date: ASAP
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
    Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

    Aspire People are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Middleton. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a Year 1 pupil with autism and additional complex needs.

    You'll be working closely with the pupil to assist in their learning, emotional development, and everyday classroom activities. If you're dedicated to helping children succeed and thrive, we want to hear from you.

    Key Responsibilities:
    -Offer dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
    -Assist with classwork and learning tasks assigned by the teacher
    -Help foster communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
    -Support the pupil during transitions and maintain routine structure
    -Provide personal care when necessary
    -Follow and implement strategies set by the teacher and SENCO
    -Track progress and offer feedback to school staff
    -Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
    -Adhere to safeguarding policies at all times

    Essential Requirements:
    -Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
    -Experience working in a UK primary school
    -Experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
    -Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks
    -A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
    -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
    -Right to work in the UK

    Desirable Experience:
    -Experience in a 1:1 support role
    -Autism-specific training or expertise
    -Team Teach or behaviour management training
    -Good understanding of SEN support strategies
