We are looking for an inspirational SENCO at our brand new Leigh Park School based in Wigan,
Leigh Park is a brand new specialist SEN school based in the Wigan area for children aged 5-19 with a wide range of complex SEN needs. The school is state of the art and we are looking forward to opening and welcoming children.
The school is set to open in autumn, after October half term with staff starting in September.
We provide a holistic, bespoke curriculum with rich learning opportunities that enable young people to develop their functional life skills in order to experience a high quality of life.
We are looking forward to opening the school and the Headteacher Johanna is eager to get started!
At Horizon Care and Education, our SENCOs are supported by Headteachers, Operational Directors and the Managing Director of Education Services. This structure of support allows Senior Leadership Teams to focus on and deliver the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
To be our SENCo, you’ll be a multi-talented professional, you’ll have great leadership and communication skills; endless enthusiasm, resilience and vision, and a commitment to both the education and the achievement of each young person.

The successful applicants will need:
Must hold a SENCOQualification or be close to completing
Must have a QTS status
Make a valuable contribution to the offering that young people receive at the school as part of the provision of high-quality teaching and learning.
Have some experience of working effectively with local authorities.
Have a passion for ensuring all young people succeed.
Be able to work effectively within a supportive, committed, and successful staff team.
Have high aspirations for themselves and others, and a commitment to further development.
Have a robust understanding of SEND Code of practice
An understanding of SEMH education and how to support the additional needs associated with SEMH pupils.Why work for us?
