How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lift Engineer

    Location: South Wales
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Overview

    We are currently seeking an experienced Lift Engineer to join a well-established engineering team covering South Wales. This role is suited to an engineer with strong service, maintenance, and fault-finding experience across a range of lift systems. The position offers a mix of planned maintenance and reactive breakdown support across commercial and residential sites.

    Role Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on lift systems

    * Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault-finding and repairs

    * Ensure lifts are operating safely, reliably, and in line with regulations

    * Complete service reports and maintain accurate job records

    * Liaise professionally with site contacts and customers

    * Support compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements

    * Work independently across assigned sites within South Wales

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Lift Engineer (service, maintenance, or breakdown)

    * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

    * Experience working with a range of lift types and manufacturers

    * Good understanding of health & safety and compliance standards

    * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

    * Full UK driving licence
