About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Oldham from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work with secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged, supported, and focused throughout the school day within a structured and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and deliver pre-prepared lessons across multiple subjects

Manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe, calm, and inclusive environment for all students
*
Support pupils with SEMH needs, responding appropriately to challenging behaviours
*
Maintain accurate records of student engagement and behaviour where required
*
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning
Person Specification
*
Previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally in a SEMH or PRU setting, is desirable
*
Confident in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
*
Flexible, patient, and able to adapt to the needs of diverse learners
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*
Ability to follow pre-prepared lesson plans accurately
