How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Package Description: To protect our autistic pupils and young adults within the National Autistic Society, all employees will be required to complete the relevant safeguarding checks which will include additional references and criminal background checks.

    About the Role 

    As a Class Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching and learning to pupils with autism, ensuring progress against individual EHCP outcomes. You’ll plan and deliver an engaging, personalised curriculum, lead your classroom team, and work closely with families and professionals to support each pupil’s development and wellbeing.

    What You’ll Do 

     Plan, deliver, and assess a broad, balanced, and individualised curriculum that meets statutory requirements and EHCP objectives.

    Lead and manage the classroom environment, including supporting and guiding class staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality practice.

    Work collaboratively with parents, therapists, and professionals to monitor progress, report outcomes, and support pupil development.

    What We’re Looking For 

     A qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS (or equivalent) and experience teaching children or young people, ideally within SEN or autism settings.

    Strong classroom leadership skills, with the ability to create a structured, supportive, and safe learning environment.

    A committed, resilient professional who shares our values and is motivated to make a meaningful difference to pupils’ lives.

    This advert is for a full-time fixed-term role, at 35 hours per week.
