How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Axon Moore are working with a fast-growing, PE-backed business to appoint a Financial Accountant. Based in Manchester city centre, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a business experiencing strong, sustained growth.

    Operating as a multi-entity group, the business partners with clients and continues to scale through technology and strategic partnerships. This role will play a key part in strengthening financial control, supporting month-end processes, and delivering high-quality financial reporting across the group.

    Salary and Benefits

    £50,000 – £52,000 per annum DOE, hybrid working (3 days in the office), flexible working hours, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, private medical, plus other benefits.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Own and deliver key aspects of the month-end close process across multiple entities.
    Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully supported and accurately reported.
    Assist with group consolidations, including inter-company reconciliations and adjustments.
    Post and review journals including accruals, prepayments, and inter-company transactions.
    Support the preparation of financial reports, providing clear commentary on performance and variances.
    Maintain fixed asset registers, including additions, disposals and depreciation.
    Support the audit process, preparing audit files and acting as a key contact for external auditors.
    Assist with VAT returns and wider tax compliance processes.
    Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
    Build strong relationships across the business, supporting stakeholders with financial insight where required.
    Support ad-hoc projects and ongoing development of systems and processes as the business continues to scale.
    Requirements for the role:

    ACA or ACCA qualified
    Practice background or experienced within a similar Financial Accountant role.
    Exposure to group consolidations is desirable.
    Experience with Xero or similar systems.
    Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
    Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    Strong attention to detail with a proactive and inquisitive approach.
    Confident communicator, able to build relationships across the business.
    Self-starter with ambition to develop within a high-growth environment.
