Key Responsibilities of the Configuration Engineer include:
* Apply aerospace configuration standards to company configured items
* Manage the problem report and change notification process via dedicated PLM toolset (SolidWorks Manage)
* Continuous improvement of the change management process
* Run the Change Control Board with Aerospace configuration best practice
* Generate and manage customer approvals and notifications of change
* Ensure quality of our design documentation, providing guidance to design engineers and preparing/representing the team for quality audits
* Governance and control of the company wide PDM/PLM systems, including its maintenance and development
* Support document and drawing reviews and approvals
* Manage configuration requirements relating to customer contracts
* Generate customer-specific configuration management plans
Qualifications and Experience required:
* Strong experience of working in an aerospace/defence environment within an Engineering function, ideally in a configuration specialist role
* Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or an equivalent level of industry experience
* Experience with PDM/PLM & CM Tools (e.g. Windchill, AllChange, Solidworks Manage, etc)
Ideal:
* Configuration Management certification, or similar qualification
* Knowledge of Def Stan 05-057
* Experience of SolidWorks Manage
* CAD tools and drawing standards knowledge is preferred
Due to the nature of the role, candidates will ideally be on site 4 da ys a week though this is some flexibility.
This role will require the ability to get SC clearance.
Role is inside IR35 and is paying circa £68 -£70 per hour
