How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established construction and property consultancy is seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their London team. This Assistant Quantity Surveyor will play an important role in supporting the delivery of professional quantity surveying services across a diverse portfolio of residential, education, commercial and public sector projects.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist with key quantity surveying duties throughout the project lifecycle, supporting senior team members while developing strong commercial and technical skills. Working closely with project managers, design teams and clients, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will contribute to maintaining high standards of cost management across multiple schemes.

    The Role

    As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of projects from early-stage cost planning through to project completion.

    The role will include:

    Assisting with preparing cost plans, estimates and feasibility studies
    * Supporting the preparation of tender documentation and procurement processes
    * Assisting with contract administration and subcontractor management
    * Monitoring project costs, variations and change control
    * Supporting interim valuations and financial reporting
    * Assisting with value engineering and risk management exercises
    * Contributing towards the preparation of final accountsThe Assistant Quantity Surveyor?

    You will be an organised and commercially aware Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is keen to develop within a professional consultancy environment.

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor must have:

    A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
    * Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Trainee Quantity Surveyor or similar role
    * A basic understanding of construction contracts (JCT preferred)
    * Strong organisational and communication skills
    * A proactive approach to learning and professional development
    * An interest in working towards MRICS chartershipIn return……?
