How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading manufacturer of material handling, automation & robotics equipment, seeking an experienced Project Engineer. With a competitive basic salary and overall package, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Projects Engineer within automation/material handling experience interested in joining a global organization who are at the forefront of warehouse technology.

    Responsibilities

    Assisting the sales team during the offer phase, reviewing the proposal with the customer and validating the budget costs
    Using autoCAD to develop concepts for customer specific to their individual automated logistic requirements for AGVs, AMRs and VNAs
    Mentoring customers on the technical components of their products
    Attending customer sites across the UK to support the project/sales teams with client visits
    Providing technical support to the in-house engineering team
    Adhering to all health and safety protocol within the project proposalsRequirements

    The company have a preference for an individual with a project engineering or mechanical design experience within Intralogistics. This isn’t essential however, they would also consider candidates with backgrounds in automation/material handling working in other industries. Another option would be a more junior candidate with a technical background in intralogistics looking to step into project engineering. You will be an individual who is capable of working autonomously as the role will be home based and requires national travel. In terms of location, you can be based anywhere across the UK.
