How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role
    As a Lecturer in Plumbing and Gas, you will deliver high-quality, engaging teaching to Apprentices and learners, helping them build the practical and professional skills required to thrive in the industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons tailored to diverse learners
    Develop innovative schemes of work
    Use learner-centred teaching and assessment strategies
    Provide constructive feedback to support progress and independence
    Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, intervening where needed
    Create a supportive and motivating learning environment
    Contribute to curriculum development aligned with industry needs
    Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge through CPDAbout You
    You are a passionate and committed Plumbing and Gas specialist who understands the transformative power of education and Apprenticeships.

    Essential Requirements:

    Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent)
    Level 3 CAVA (Assessor Award)
    Gas Safe Registration
    3-5 years' relevant industry experienceDesirable:

    IQA Level 4 qualificationYou Will Also Have:

    Experience teaching in Further Education, ideally Apprenticeships
    Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices
    Ability to differentiate for mixed-ability groups
    Experience tracking learner progress using digital systems
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
