Reeson Education are supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Lambeth, South London who require an enthusiastic Portuguese speaking Teaching Assistant (EAL) to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be a fluent Portuguese speaker with prior secondary school Teaching Assistant experience, or a graduate looking to pursue a career as a qualified teacher in the future.

The role of the EAL Teaching Assistant is to support students with moderate learning difficulties and encourage learning across a variety of subjects and year groups. You should be able to demonstrate successful experience in supporting students with EAL.

The successful candidate will:

Be a fluent Portuguese speaker
Supervise and provide particular support for students identified with EAL ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with students' learning
Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support students to achieve learning goals
