How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role
    My client is looking to recruit a Junior Engineer to support both the manufacturing and office-based teams. This is a varied position where you will play an important role in interpreting technical information, processing orders, and providing day-to-day technical support to internal departments and customers.

    You will work closely with multiple teams across the business, helping to ensure projects run smoothly, costings are accurate, and all documentation is maintained to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review and interpret technical drawings to extract key information

    • Carry out material take-offs and prepare detailed job specifications

    • Produce and update CAD drawings using relevant software

    • Utilise CAD/CAM systems to support production processes

    • Accurately process and input customer orders into internal systems

    • Maintain and update customer records and account information

    • Communicate with customers to clarify technical requirements where needed

    • Support job costing activities, including materials, labour, and processing time

    • Provide technical support to both sales and production teams

    • Ensure all documentation is accurate, consistent, and compliant with company standards

    • Assist with general operational and administrative tasks as required

    The Candidate
    Hold an engineering qualification (not a degree-level role)

    Proficient in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD or similar)

    Experience speaking to customers

    Ability to read engineering drawings

    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

    Strong communication skills

    Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively

    Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player
