How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Project Engineer

    Project Engineers take responsibility for specific work packages (DWPs, Vendor Design, Sub‑Contractor Design) and contribute to the design, coordination, assurance, procurement interface, and on‑site delivery of their assigned scope of work.

    Assurance

    Single point of responsibility for review of documents submitted within an assigned package.
    Ensure design reviews consider, as a minimum:
    Compliance with project technical requirements and NG/SPEN standards
    Buildability, maintainability, and operability
    Identification and mitigation of safety hazards as far as reasonably practicable
    Demonstrable coordination of all interfaces
    Adequate identification of temporary works requirements
    Identify the need for input from other disciplines/functions and coordinate their involvement in reviews.
    With support from Project Controls, track client reviews and coordinate timely close‑out of review comments with the relevant designers.
    Manage all client review comments to resolution.
    Liaise, via the Engineering Manager, with the Client Design Assurance Engineer to resolve technical issues.
    Attend relevant SR188 and Design Review Meetings with the client.
    Escalate preferential engineering decisions or changes in requirements to Engineering and Project Management teams.

    Design Coordination & Management

    Ensure effective design coordination across the full supply chain, including internal teams, vendors, and sub‑contractors.
    Provide input into the design programme.
    Chair and record relevant discipline engineering meetings.
    Provide engineering deliverables and data to the completions team for upload to the Completions Management System.
    Participate in HAZID reviews and close out assigned actions.
    Identify change events and escalate immediately.
    Raise Project Change Requests where applicable.
    Produce advanced warnings and support change/variation submissions alongside Project Management.
    Support Project Management in identifying programme opportunities and risks.
    Report weekly on package progress.

    Procurement

    Prepare technical input for Procurement Package RFQs, including:
    Scope of Work
    Specifications
    Supplier Document Requirements Lists (SDRLs)
    Construction and temporary works requirements
    Allocate criticality ratings for supplier surveillance, RoS dates, and required inputs into the POP.
    Complete Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).
    Produce technical scopes of work for contract inclusion.
    Ensure Type Registration processes are completed for all required assets.

    Construction Interface

    Attend and facilitate buildability reviews with designers, ensuring actions are incorporated into the design.
    Attend constructability reviews chaired by the Construction team.
    Deliver DWPs at IFC status to Construction in line with the delivery programme.
    Formally transfer design hazards to the Construction team.
    Respond to RFIs from vendors, contractors, consultants, and the client as required.
    Prepare Design Change Notices (DCNs) where design changes are required.
