How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: SEN Learning Mentor

    Location: Devon
    Contract: Full-time / Part-time (dependent on needs)

    About the Role

    Here at Fox Morris Group, we are seeking an SEN Learning Mentor role to positively support and enrich the development of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with individual learners to help them grow academically, emotionally, and socially, ensuring their unique needs are understood and met.

    This role is centred on building a strong, trusting relationship with each child, allowing you to become a consistent, supportive presence in their educational journey. By creating a safe, encouraging, and nurturing environment, you will help children build confidence, develop essential life skills, and overcome barriers to learning.

    As an SEN Learning Mentor, you will take time to understand each child as an individual, tailoring your approach to help them engage with learning, regulate emotions, and achieve personal goals. Your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the child’s wellbeing, independence, and long‑term development.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN

    * Support learners with emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement

    * Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

    * Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families

    * Maintain accurate records and report progress effectively

    Essential Requirements

    * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

    * Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service

    * Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred)

    * Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
