We’re recruiting an experienced Management Accountant to join a well‑established finance team within a values‑driven organisation operating at scale across the UK.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, with accountability to the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality management information, robust financial controls and insightful analysis that influences operational performance.
You’ll work closely with operational stakeholders and the wider finance team, providing meaningful commentary and ensuring financial data is accurate, compliant and delivered to strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis
Deliver high‑quality management information and performance reporting, including benchmarking across service types
Provide clear, insightful variance analysis and financial support to non‑finance stakeholders
Collate, review and submit KPIs and statistical data, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Maintain a strong financial control environment, compliant with SOX and FRS102
Support and participate in SOX testing and challenge internal controls where appropriate
Ensure statutory returns are completed accurately and on time
Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external service providers (e.g. payroll, AP)
Actively identify risks and opportunities through close engagement with operations
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles alongside Commercial Finance and FP&A
Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, policies and practices
Provide day‑to‑day support to senior finance leadership including the Financial Controller, Director of Finance and CFOAbout You
You’ll be a confident, hands‑on finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and challenging the status quo to drive improvement.
Part‑qualified / qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA
Proven experience preparing management accounts to tight deadlines
Strong experience with accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Analytical, commercially astute and detail‑focused
Excellent communicator, comfortable working with senior and non‑finance stakeholdersWhat’s in It for You
