How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cheadle, Manchester - Hybrid working Our client is on the lookout for a Web Developer to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality, user‑focused websites and web applications that support the organisation's objectives. You will translate business and user requirements into functional, visually appealing, and responsive digital solutions. Furthermore, ensures that all web platforms are secure, accessible, optimised for performance, and aligned with industry best practices

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    Develop and maintain websites and web applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with organisational standards
    Manage the full development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimisation of digital products
    Ensure website performance, reliability, and responsiveness, proactively identifying and resolving bugs, errors, or performance bottlenecks
    Implement and maintain web security best practices, protecting digital assets and safeguarding data integrity
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams-such as UX/UI design, marketing, content, and IT-to deliver cohesive and effective digital experiences
    Provide technical guidance and support, assisting stakeholders with web-related queries, troubleshooting issues, and advising on best practicesThe following skills and experience will be essential:

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field
    Proven experience as a Web Developer, Front-End Developer, or Full-Stack Developer
    Minimum 2 years experience within a similar role
    Demonstrable portfolio of websites or web applications
    Experience working with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
    Experience with API integration, version control, and modern development workflows
    Able to travel to the office in Cheadle
