How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Head of Girls' PE

    A large and well-regarded secondary school in West London is seeking a Head of Girls' PE to join their team from September 2026.

    This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced PE teacher to lead physical education provision across the school. The position is full time, with salary aligned to inner London MPS/UPS plus a TLR, depending on experience.

    Head of Girls' PE - West London

    Lead and develop the Girls' PE curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes across all key stages.
    Manage and support PE staff, providing coaching and professional development to enhance teaching practice.
    Promote participation and excellence in girls' sport, including extracurricular clubs and competitive fixtures.
    Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages all students to engage in physical activity.
    Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement and participation levels.
    Contribute to whole-school initiatives, promoting health, wellbeing, and teamwork.This is a well-established secondary school with a strong commitment to high standards and continuous improvement across all areas.     Qualifications and Person Specification:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    A relevant degree in Physical Education or a related subject
    Proven experience teaching PE with strong subject knowledge
    Experience in leadership or a willingness to take on leadership responsibilities
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
