How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MEP Estimating Manager

    Leeds

    Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + car allowance + package

    Our client is a major national Tier One Building Services Contractor with a strong track record of delivering large-scale MEP projects across the UK.

    They are now looking to appoint an MEP Estimating Manager for their Leeds office, with a clear preference for a mechanically biased estimator who understands how to price and win major D&B work.

    The Role

    This is a key appointment within the pre-construction team, leading the estimating function on large-scale Building Services tenders. The successful candidate will take responsibility for producing commercially robust, mechanically biased estimates on major design and build projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Lead the preparation of large-scale MEP / Building Services estimates

    *

    Take ownership of mechanically biased D&B tenders from enquiry through to handover

    *

    Review drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements

    *

    Work closely with design, operational and commercial teams during bid stages

    *

    Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations

    *

    Assess commercial risk, value engineering opportunities and programme implications

    Requirements

    *

    Must come from a Building Services / MEP contracting background

    *

    Must be mechanically biased and have operated at least at Senior Mechanical Estimator level

    *

    Must have strong D&B estimating experience and be design-aware rather than design-led

    *

    Must have tendered for large-scale projects

    *

    Must have worked for either a Tier One national contractor or a strong regional independent competing at this level

    *

    Must show a stable career history with a proven track record
