How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Domestic Gas / Heating Engineer

    Thurrock / Essex (Field-Based Role)
    £42,000 – £48,000 + Benefits
    Full-Time | Monday–Friday + Call-Out Rota

    I’m currently working with a well-established national organisation that delivers heating, energy, and compliance solutions to social housing and public sector clients across the UK.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Domestic Gas / Heating Engineer to join their field-based team covering Thurrock and surrounding Essex / East London areas.

    The Role

    This is a mobile position where you’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing domestic heating and hot water systems within residential properties. You’ll play a key role in ensuring systems are safe, efficient, and fully compliant, while delivering excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service, maintain, and repair domestic gas heating systems

    * Carry out fault-finding and breakdown work

    * Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with regulations

    * Provide excellent customer service to residents and clients

    * Complete job reports and documentation accurately

    * Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements

    * Manage stock and materials effectively

    Requirements

    * Domestic gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1

    * Proven experience in servicing and repairing heating systems

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Strong customer service and communication skills

    * Ability to work independently

    * Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
