How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Cardington, Bedford
    Working Hours and Days:  Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm - (37.5 hours per week)

    About the role
    As a Sales Development Representative, you will play a pivotal role in driving future business growth by identifying new opportunities and generating high-quality sales intelligence. Through detailed research, lead qualification and insight-driven reporting, you will enable the sales team to target the right customers with the right approach, directly influencing pipeline growth and commercial performance.

    Duties & responsibilities

    Research and identify new business opportunities, markets and target organisations
    Analyse industries, companies and competitors to generate actionable sales insights
    Generate and qualify leads through outbound calls, emails and networking activity
    Gather, interpret and present market data to support sales strategies
    Maintain accurate records of research activity and progress using Excel and internal systems
    Collaborate with sales and internal teams to support cross-selling opportunities
    Produce clear, concise reports to inform sales planning and decision-making
    Support the Sales Development Researcher in achieving new business targetsAbout you

    Strong analytical and research capability with excellent attention to detail
    Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business
    Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
    Experience in sales research, business development or lead generation, with LinkedIn Sales Navigator desirable
