How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Year 2 Teacher (Fixed Term - 1 Year)
    Start Date: September 2026

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, caring and nurturing teacher who is ambitious both for their own professional development and for the progress and wellbeing of the children in their care.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking infant school in Hemel Hempstead as a Year 2 Teacher on a one-year fixed-term contract, starting September 2026. You will be working alongside experienced teaching staff and committed, conscientious support colleagues in a collaborative and welcoming environment. This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), who will receive full induction and ongoing support.

    Following extensive research and development, the school has successfully implemented a continuous provision approach in Year 1, which has had a significant positive impact on both academic outcomes and pupil wellbeing. This approach has been carefully considered in shaping transition into Year 2 to ensure consistency and continuity for learners.

    The school is a community-focused, inclusive infant and nursery school in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, catering for children aged 3-7. It serves approximately 212 pupils and places a strong emphasis on creative learning, high educational standards, and fostering a nurturing environment for early education. The school includes a nursery class and is committed to providing a rich, engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity and confidence.
